Business studies and psychology are just a couple of the wide range of subjects that successful Thomas Clarkson students will study at university after receiving their A Level results.

Gertruda Dambrauskaite and Erin Bell have won places on psychology courses at the University of Brighton and Bishop Grosseteste in Lincoln. Gertruda who got a double distinction star in performing arts and A Levels in sociology and media said: ‘It  is the only thing that really grabbed my attention and that I could see myself doing for a long time. I am happy with these results and have enjoyed my time at Thomas Clarkson as I have made friends and had opportunities to do well. ‘

Erin achieved a double distinction star in performing arts,  as well as a B graded maths A Level and C in psychology. She said: ‘It is such an intriguing subject. As I studied it I wanted to know more and more, to the point that I read up on things that I am not studying at the moment just because it is so interesting. I like the idea of working with the police doing profiling or something but I definitely want a career in psychology, maybe even research. Thomas Clarkson has been amazing. I made friends straight away and the teachers are so supportive. I love it and am sad to be leaving.’

Jordan Marshall and Samanta Cichunovaite both want business careers with Jordan securing a place at the University of Winchester and Samanta going to the University of Brighton. Jordan got good A Levels in maths and business: He said: ‘I wanted to go to Winchester as it is a really scenic place and the staff are all friendly. I am most pleased about getting a B grade for maths but I did work hard for it!’

Samanta achieved A Levels in business, sociology and media studies and she will be studying international business and Chinese. She said: ‘I want to learn a language and opted for Chinese business specifically because there is a lot of potential.  I have been here since Year 8 and all the teachers have been nothing but supportive, it has been absolutely wonderful. That is why I stayed in the Sixth Form here, it has been a great experience.’
