TCA student Charlotte Cameron is aiming high both in school and out with ambitions to read law at university and become a World Champion kickboxer.

Charlotte, 14, won silver and bronze at last year’s world championships in Italy and will represent England at the World Kickboxing Council’s World Championships in Portugal in November.

So far this year Charlotte has already won the WKC English, British and European titles.

She is a member of the British Chinese Kickboxing Association [BCKA] and trains at the national headquarters in Corby four or five times a week.

Charlotte, a member of the school’s Junior Leadership Team, said: “I feel really excited about this year. I’m in a different division this year so I’m hoping for more experience and I’m hoping for a medal.

“At school I enjoy English and History because I have always been interested in what happened in the past and how it has shaped our future. It’s the same as kickboxing – what I did last year has helped me train this year.”

BCKA Coach Alex Barrowman said: “Charlotte is a promising young talent who is extremely focused on her training and determined to succeed.

“Since joining up with the BCKA England Squad at the national headquarters and through continuing her hard training she has shown improvement at an exceptional rate.

“Charlotte has all the potential to succeed at world level. For her age she is very tough and very mature in her approach to training, seeking out top experienced fighters to give her further tuition and tips.

“She gives 110% in every training session and when competing whether she is representing locally, on a national or international stage.”
