Singing students joined voices with thousands of young people from across the country when they sang at a national arena.

40 students from the Wisbech Children’s Community Choir and from across the academy took part in the Young Voices concert at the Gent arena in Birmingham last week.

After weeks of rehearsal during Saturday music school and during Session 6 the musical group took part in the choir, which has involved many thousands of young people from across the country.

Music teacher Gayna O’Rourke said: “The choir sang songs ranging from Gospel medleys to popular tunes of 2015, to Madness! The choir was conducted by David Lawrence and the evening hosted by TV presenter Gigi Morley. Dance group Urban Strides also performed.”

Mrs O’Rourke added: “The students had a fantastic day and really enjoyed performing in the Gent arena to a large audience.”
