Fundraising for Children in Need gets underway

A week of fundraising for the BBC Children in Need appeal has been getting underway at TCA.

A week of fundraising for the BBC Children in Need appeal has been getting underway at TCA.

Activities will take place all this week to raise money for the fund ahead of the appeal telethon on Friday.

Head of the King Learning Community Sarah Loosemore has been out in Eden during break times with a big whisky bottle which students and staff have started filling with loose change. After two days the bottle is already about half full of coins.

A raffle will be running throughout the week to win a Pudsey cake and a £5 voucher and on Thursday and Friday students and staff will be able to pay 20p to have a shoe shine in aid of the appeal.

There are also fundraising games of ‘Name the bear’ and ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’ running all week, as well as bucket collections of change.

Mrs Loosemore said: “Lots of students have already been donating their change, buying raffle tickets and having a go at naming the bear and guessing the number of sweets. We will be collecting until Friday afternoon so I would ask students and staff to remember to bring in some change to help boost our final total.”
