Five Year 7 students took third place in a five-a-side football tournament.

Members of the Year 7 girls’ football team took on other schools from around the Isle of Ely in the tournament at Neale Wade Community College on Monday, November 19.

TCA’s first match was against Ely College and finished 2-1 to Ely College.

TCA’s second match was against Witchford Village College. During the game captain Chloe Clifford and Megan Sheldon netted four goals between them to lead the team to a 4-0 win.

The final match of the afternoon was against Neale Wade.

Coach Amy Anderson said: “We did magnificently, Amanda Bumeistare held her position well at centre-back, there was great communication between the girls and TCA, despite conceding a few goals, kept their heads and spirits raised.

“Megan Sheldon didn’t stop, her effort was phenomenal, she was rewarded by slotting a goal passed the Neale Wade keeper.

“The girls were a credit to TCA - their sportsmanship and etiquette was commended by teachers from other schools.”

TCA’s Megan Sheldon was named player of the tournament.

The team was made up of Year 7 students Kayleigh Jackson, Chloe Clifford, Amanda Bumeistare, Megan Sheldon and Ana Campos de Jesus.
