Dream tree for Year 8s

Year 8 students are being encouraged to celebrate their dreams by putting them on a special dream tree.

The dream tree was created after Vice Principal Charlotte Johnson gave an assembly during which she encouraged students to set their sights on being whatever they wanted to be and to not listen to anyone who told them they couldn’t achieve their dreams.

Year 8 students are now being invited to recognise and celebrate their dream by writing it on a ‘leaf’ and sticking it onto the dream tree.

Two of the Year 8s who have taken part so far are Gareth Cole, who dreams of being a professional drummer, and Sara Symoczko, whose dream is to become a dress designer.

Assistant librarian Faith Howland said: “Straight after the assembly the students were coming into the library and wanting to put their dreams onto the tree, it’s brilliant.

“We have got quite a few dreams on there already and we are going to get that tree full of leaves.”
