Leader of our Learning Information Centre, Debbie Trafford, has picked out a number of books, including titles are new to TCA, to recommend to students. Here are Mrs Trafford’s recommended reads:

'Beautiful Creatures' by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl has recently been turned into a film. We have both the prose and the Manga versions available in our library.

The Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead are ideal for readers who enjoyed the Twilight books, as are The Vampire Diaries books by L.J. Smith.

'Mates, Dates and Portobello Princesses’ by Cathy Hopkins is book number three in the Mates Dates series and are recommended for Year 8 and 9 girls.

'The Recruit' by Robert Muchamore is another title which we also hold the Manga book of in the library.

In ‘The Carbon Diaries 2015’ by Saci Lloyd, the UK is the first nation to introduce carbon dioxide rations. This is a recommended read for all ages.

'Echoes of Love' by Rosie Rushton is based on Jane Austen's Persuasion - this book brings the story into the 21st century and is a recommended read for all ages.

'Need' and 'Captivate' by Carrie Jones are recommended reads for Year 8 and 9 students - they're like Twilight but with fairies!
