Rappaman visit

Year 8 students wrote rap lyrics about respect during workshops run by rap poet ‘Rappaman’ Donavan Christopher today.

Donavan performed a number of his pieces to year 7 and 8 students in the theatre this morning and held three workshops for year 8 students throughout the day in the library.

He said: “I really enjoyed myself and I’m sad to go, I would love to come back and do some more.”

Year 11 student Jack Fowler, who helped with the workshops, said: "I had a brilliant time, I think the day has really helped with my poetry skills."

Librarian Debbie Trafford said: “It’s been very enjoyable and I think a lot of the students have been inspired. I’m hoping the result will be lots of entries for our poetry competition.”

The library is running a competition to win High Street vouchers. To enter students must submit their own poem or song lyrics on the theme of respect.

TCA would like to thank the Rotary Club of Wisbech for generously donating the prizes for this competition.

The deadline for entries is October 3rd.
