Students have taken their first steps towards the land of Oz after the first drama workshop for this year’s summer show took place.

Almost 40 students attended the workshop on Monday (January 13^th) in the hope of playing Dorothy or one of her friends in the TCA version of the Wizard of Oz.

Adapted by drama teacher Mrs Wilcox, the show will take to the stage in the summer term and promises to be one to remember.

Mrs Wilcox said: “This first workshop was aimed at everyone getting to know each other and giving me a chance to see group dynamics. Next Monday (January 20^th) there will be a second workshop concentrating on both drama and music.

Students were given audition scripts to familiarise themselves which will help them for the with but next stage in which certain students will be asked to audition for the specific roles after that we will be casting.”

The workshop takes place next Monday in the theatre from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
