Theatre company shows students the importance of recycling

A professional theatre company visited TCA to perform a drama about the importance of recycling to Year 8 students.

The company, called Enact Solutions, came in on Friday, October 12, and performed their show ‘Love Your Stuff’ in the new theatre.

The show was put together by Enact Solutions in partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Partnership.

The company performed the show to 300 schools in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and their performance at TCA was the last one of their tour.

Before the performance, students were asked to complete an online questionnaire to find out their prior knowledge about ‘reuse’, which they did with their respect tutors.

At the end of the performance, 20 students took part in a digital questionnaire to find out how much they had learnt about ‘reuse’ from the show.

Year 8 student Joe Saunders said: "We had never been in the theatre before and I was very impressed.  We watched two people perform about recycling. They told us how recycling helps us and the environment.

"I enjoyed the performance because it was funny also I learned about recycling. It made me think about recycling objects at home for example paper and plastic bottles.

"I hope we can do more about recycling at school and I would really like to see the theatre company perform again at school."
