Hosting the Friendship Games

Our academy hosted the Friendship Games this week and invited primary school pupils from Year 6 to join us and take part in activities they may never have tried before.

Run in conjunction with the Witchford Sports Partnership, the games included the Harry Potter-inspired Quidditch, now a fast-paced popular sport around the world for mixed gender teams of up to 21, with seven on the pitch at any one time.

There was also archery, yoga and a variety of team-building exercises for the students to take part in.

Our own sports leaders from Years 9 and 10 were also involved in the games, and they were a credit to themselves and their families, particularly Jack who led Quidditch and Sophie who took the lead on archery.
