Students Abigail Pittam and Ashley Gosling are hoping to continue their recent winning streak when they compete at a regional athletics competition this Saturday (June 13th).

The pair will be donning the Cambridgeshire vest at the Anglian Schools Track and Field competition being held at Peterborough arena.

Abigail will be representing the county in the under 15 girls javelin and Ashley will be competing in both the Under 15 Boys shot put and and Under 15 boys discuss.

Both have been trained by TCA teacher Piotr Krawczyk and practice during the Session 6 athletics club on a Monday.

Abigail said: “I am hoping to get first place. Because for me there is first place or no place.”

Ashley said: “I am pretty nervous about it, but really ready to take part.”

The pair have had a great season so far. Both came first in the district inter schools events and then qualified for the regional event at the county championships.

If they get through this round they will go on to the prestigious English Schools competition being held at Gateshead Stadium on July 10th and 11th.
