Prom-travaganza

Students made sure they ended their Year 11 studies in style, as a flotilla of amazing vehicles chauffeured them to the Prom.

A tank and trailer, fire engine, lorry, horse and fairy carriage, speed boat, VW Camper van, aswell as a fleet of fast cars and motorbikes pulled up to entrance of Elm Hall in Wisbech on Friday (June 19th) as students gathered to celebrate their studies.

Female students were dressed in beautiful gowns and male students looked fantastic in their prom suits.

Organiser Gerwyn Williams said: “It was absolutely brilliant. There was a horse and carriage, fire engine, old cars, new cars, bikes and even a tank, which was quite impressive. The hall was decked in black and gold and the students danced the night away.

“The academy is very grateful for the support we get from parents and colleagues, which makes the event such a spectacular finish to the school year.

“Thanks also to people who use the road up to the hotel for their patience. We know we cause a major problem for an hour but it is all in good fun.”

128 students went along to the prom and Connor Lester and Eleanor Carr were voted Prom King and Queen by their fellow students.
