Two TCA staff members are taking on a marathon challenge in aid of charity.

Head of music Gayna O’Rourke and Inclusion staff member Laura Evans will be tackling the 26 mile run in a bid to raise funds for cancer causes.

Mrs O’Rourke will be running the Edinburgh Marathon in May  2016 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of when she underwent life-saving chemotherapy and radiation treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
She will run along with her husband Liam to raise funds for Leukaemia Care.

She said: “Leukaemia and HD are diseases which are rare and mainly affect children and young adults; the treatments are brutal, long term and isolating.

“I am doing a marathon as a way of saying ‘this is what my body can achieve’.”

Miss Evans is running the London Marathon in April in aid of Children’s With Cancer. She said: “I ran the Great Eastern Run in October and after that said I would not do a half marathon again, but now here I am attempting the London Marathon.

“It has always been something that I wanted to do and am really looking forward to it.”

Both runners have an online account at which you can sponsor their marathon effort.
