TCA students took a trip to London’s West End to watch a Royal Shakespeare Company production.

The students went on the trip on Thursday, October 18, to watch Much Ado About Nothing at the Noël Coward Theatre, St Martin’s Lane.

The show was a reworking of Much Ado About Nothing and is described as Shakespeare’s comedy of love and deceit being transposed to a vibrant and colourful Indian setting.

The show, starring The Kumars at Number 42 and Goodness Gracious Me actress Meera Syal, ran for five weeks, from September 24 to October 27, and was given top reviews by The Times and the Daily Mail.

Year 11 student Jaime-lea Taylor, who went on the trip, said: “Before we went to the theatre we walked around Covent Garden in groups. It was good because I had never been there before, there were lots of street performers.

“We went to the Noël Coward Theatre, where we had a row to ourselves, there was 22 of us.

“The show was a different recreation of Shakespeare, it was good.”

Year 11 student Sophie Barber, who also went along, said: “It was a different experience, it was different to what I was expecting.

“We went because we are writing an essay about Much Ado About Nothing soon.”
