The Academy’s Learning Information Centre is inviting students to take part in a quiz based on the Horrible Histories series.

Horrible Histories is now a television series as well as a series of books, which are popular titles at the Learning Information Centre.

To take part in the quiz students must pick up a sheet from the Learning Information Centre.

The challenge is to fill in the blanks to complete the titles of 20 Horrible Histories books. Students will score one point for each correct answer.

A winner will be chosen at random from the top scoring entries and the winning student will receive a prize.

The deadline for entries is Monday, October 22.

The Learning Information Centre is set to put on more quizzes for students in the future.

Leader of the Learning Information Centre Debbie Trafford said: “Most of the Horrible Histories books are on the shelves so we are also encouraging students to borrow books. It’s like a treasure hunt because they are trying to find the books which are in the quiz on the shelves.

“This quiz is going to run until half term and will be the first of many quizzes.

“We find the Horrible Histories books are very popular here, especially now it’s on television as well.”

Students can borrow up to four books at a time from the Learning Information Centre for three weeks.

There is also a selection of DVDs available for borrowing for three nights.
