Year 5s from our partner primary schools visited TCA to take part in a day of apple themed activities.

Students from Elm, Wisbech St Mary, Leverington, Friday Bridge and St Peters primary schools visited us for Apple Day on Tuesday, December 4.

Apple Day has taken place annually at TCA for several years. The day is linked with TCA’s orchard, which has been in the planning stages for some time and is set to be planted in the spring.

During their visit the Year 5s were put into groups and competed in a planting contest with potted apple trees. They then warmed up with a hot chocolate before an afternoon of classroom-based activities which included an apple peeling competition and the students cutting out and creating their own paper orchards.

The students went on a tour of the school and enjoyed apple desserts at lunch.

A cake sale was also held on the day in the restaurant and raised more than £30 for the Salvation Army.
