Christmas wishes at festive assemblies

Students were wished a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in a series of celebration assemblies held to mark the end of the year.

Madiba had their festive assembly on Wednesday afternoon, King on Thursday morning and Pankhurst on Thursday afternoon.

Father Paul West of St Peter and St Paul Church in Wisbech spoke to students during the Pankhurst assembly.

In each of the assemblies Jone Lipnickaite performed ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and Sixth Form student Emily Lyall (pictured) peformed ‘Happy Christmas (War Is Over)’. Both were accompanied by teacher Inigo Rodriguez on guitar.

Madiba head girl Stacey Pitcher performed ‘Silent Night’ with teacher Andrew Reynolds playing the guitar and singing.

Various awards were given out, Community Student Council members were presented with new badges and the winners of the Attendance Chocolate Feast were announced. The winners - K22, P11 and M23 – will enjoy their feast at the end of the school day tomorrow.
