Josh, a Year 12 student, recently showcased his bravery and intellect at the Philosophy and Ethics Conference held at Newham College, Cambridge. Josh took the stand to argue that Natural Moral Law is an outdated philosophical concept, engaging in a lively debate that was part of a diverse range of topics covered throughout the day.
Christmas came early for some of our students after they received a book and chocolates in the spirit of a Christmas Eve Icelandic tradition. Our academy is once again hosting its annual Jólabókaflóð, or "book flood," event. This cherished tradition, celebrated on Christmas Eve in Iceland, involves exchanging books and spending the evening reading by a cosy fire while enjoying chocolate.
In celebration of National Poetry Day, students were invited by Librarian Miss Robinson to showcase their poetic talents. The competition saw a wonderful array of entries, but it was Om P from Year 8 who emerged victorious.
Our Sixth Form Mentoring scheme continues to shine as a beacon of excellence, providing exceptional opportunities for our top achievers in Maths and English to reach even greater heights. Selected for their remarkable talents, these students are immersing themselves in an enriching journey of learning, mentorship, and discovery.

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students from Thomas Clarkson Academy and The Wisbech Academy joined forces to support the Wisbech Fire Station Christmas gift appeal. The initiative aimed to spread Christmas cheer to those in need within the local community.

Box Clever's latest production has once again proven to be a resounding success, captivating Year 10 students with its innovative and interactive approach. The modern re-telling of the classic story kept students engaged from start to finish, blending key quotes from the original text with contemporary references that resonated with the young audience.

Last Friday, 13 Year 12 and 13 Sixth Form students had the unique opportunity to visit Trinity Hall College for a bespoke application workshop day. The event, curated and delivered by Trinity Hall, aimed to dispel myths and correct misinterpretations about what it means to be a Cambridge applicant and student.
Cambridgeshire Music is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new Arts Award course in Wisbech, starting January 2025. This initiative, in collaboration with Creative Arts East, promises to be a unique opportunity for young people in the area.

Tomorrow, we join the global community in observing Mental Health Day. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and promoting the importance of mental well-being. At Thomas Clarkson Academy, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on their mental health, reach out for support if needed, and engage in activities that promote well-being. Let’s work together to create a supportive and understanding environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
Remember, it’s okay to not be okay. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Let’s break the stigma and support each other on this journey towards better mental health.
