Year 7 Netball afterschool is cancelled today due to the adverse weather.
Well done to our amazing students who provided the entertainment and won awards at the Brooke Weston Trust Sports Award Evening.
Mrs Karen Hearne has been appointed the Brooke Weston Trust’s first Director of Science. Mrs Hearne is a very experienced teacher, having been at Brooke Weston Academy in Northamptonshire since it opened, and its Head of Science for the past three years.
A recent monitoring inspection by the Department for Education has found that Thomas Clarkson Academy is ‘improving solidly’ and that intervention strategies to drive up standards of teaching and learning are taking effect.
Representatives from each of our Trust secondary schools had Health and Safety training about safe practice in PE, that gave advice on legalities, best practice and other topics including first aid.
Our students joined around 200 others from across the Trust for a Year 9 sports festival.
Well done to Sixth Former Taylor Cordell who has a 100% attendance record at Thomas Clarkson Academy, having not missed a single day since she started there in 2011!
Thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s World Book Day competition to identify the most staff members who had dressed up as favourite and memorable literary characters.
