Successful Pop-Up Event for Young Carers Action Day
In a heartfelt initiative to support young carers, Wisbech Primary Care Network (PCN) organised a successful pop-up event at Thomas Clarkson Academy on Young Carers Action Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by young carers and to provide them with much-needed support and resources.
Louise Pitt, Health and Wellbeing Coach from Wisbech PCN, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you for allowing us to put the event on. It was a real success as we managed to talk to a lot of young carers at the school."
Thomas Clarkson Academy and Wisbech PCN are dedicated to supporting carers in all aspects of life. Recognising the unique struggles of young carers, the event was designed to foster discussions about their needs and how they can access more support. The theme for this year's Young Carers Action Day was "Give Me A Break," focusing on the importance of rest and respite for young carers.
"Young carers and the stress that comes from their responsibilities are all too frequently overlooked," Louise noted. "What better time to bring awareness and support around this than on Young Carers Action Day?"
The pop-up event featured various activities and information sessions aimed at promoting rest and respite for young carers. Attendees were encouraged to share their experiences and learn about the resources available to them.
