Thomas Clarkson Academy Open Evening: Discover a School Where Students Thrive

Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech is inviting prospective students and their families to its highly anticipated Open Evening on Thursday, 25th September, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. This event offers a unique opportunity for Year 5 and 6 pupils to explore the school, meet staff and students, and take part in engaging taster lessons that showcase the academy’s vibrant learning environment.

The open evening comes on the heels of a glowing 2025 Ofsted report, which praised the academy for its “warm, inclusive environment” and strong relationships between staff and students. Inspectors noted that “pupils are proud of their school” and benefit from a culture built on trust and mutual respect.

Principal Matthew Dobbing expressed pride in the academy’s continued progress:

“Thomas Clarkson Academy is a wonderful school, and we are extremely proud of our young people. This Ofsted report reflects the dedication and ambition of our learning community. We truly believe in our motto: Transform, Challenge, Aspire.”

The report also commended the school’s broad curriculum, which prepares all pupils—including those with special educational needs—for future success. Notably, the academy has made significant improvements in teaching quality, with inspectors highlighting that “teachers have strong subject knowledge”, especially in the sixth form.
