Make time for volunteering
If you are wondering what you can do over the summer break - Cambridgeshire Libraries has just the thing.
Students over the age of 12 can volunteer to help with the popular Summer Reading Challenge which is being run by libraries across the county, including Wisbech.
Volunteers can help in a number of ways, working with young readers during the holiday. The Challenge is run in primary schools and library volunteers must be able to commit at least two hours a week.
The challenge runs from July 15 to September 2 and volunteers can promote the event to children, parents and carers, talk to children about their books to develop confidence, help collect data, prepare certificates and awards and promote library membership.
Volunteering is a great thing to do and also adds to your personal statement when it comes to applying for university places or to your CV when you look for work.
Complete an Expression of Interest form (attached below), use your form tutor's name and email address for a reference and hand the form in to Wisbech library.
