Thomas Clarkson Academy students got the chance to draw Manga characters during workshops with artist Sonia Leong.

Sonia visited TCA today and gave a talk to Year 8 students in the theatre. Then she held workshops throughout the school day for students through from Year 7 to Year 11.

Sonia gave students advice about drawing facial characteristics and bodies for their characters and drew several different characters for them.

She also signed copies of her Manga books between sessions.

Year 7 student Ellie Gordon, who took part in the first workshop, said: "I really enjoyed the drawing, it was something I had never done before so it was all new to me."
