The brand-new theatre at Thomas Clarkson Academy was officially declared open with a ceremony on Saturday (March 16th) night.

The Mayor of Wisbech, Councillor Vivien MacRae, unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion with Principal Clare Claxton while members of the Royal Air Force Swing Wing Band played a specially-written fanfare.

Visitors enjoyed musical performances by Thomas Clarkson student Joshua Betts on the saxophone and student Jone Lipnickaite, who sang and was accompanied by teacher Inigo Rodriguez on guitar. Teacher Anthony Palmer also performed a piece on the cello.

The RAF Swing Wing Band, a 20-piece big band, then performed for the audience.
