More than 30 Thomas Clarkson Academy students visited Lake Garda in Italy over the Easter holidays for a football trip.

The group flew to Milan and got the chance to visit the San Siro football stadium before settling in at the Garda Village, a complex where they stayed for the week.

Teacher James Hooper said: “We had a tour of the San Siro, which was fantastic. There was lots to see – we went in the changing rooms, went down to the pitchside, had a look around the museum and visited the club shop.”

The two TCA teams – under 15s and under 16s – played two fixtures each against sides from the Mantova Academy at the Mantova training ground.

In their competitive games the under 16s won one game and lost one game, while the under 15s lost both their fixtures.

When they weren’t playing in fixtures the students spent a lot of time training at the Garda Village.

Mr Hooper said: “They loved it. I would definitely look at doing another trip next year. Lake Garda was really nice.”
