Manga super fans
Manga books continue to be a favourite among students, with the two top borrowers reading 187 books between them since September.
There is an area in the library dedicated to the Japanese graphic novels and a number of students are regular borrowers.
Manga enthusiast Katie Field, in Year 8, has read 107 of the books since the start of the school year, while Year 10 student Ryan Clark has finished 80.
Speaking about the appeal of the genre, Katie said: “There’s a really good variety of manga books and the stories are quite intriguing. Each one in a series ends with a cliff hanger.”
Ryan added: “I’ve been reading manga for a while because the style is unique. They are an interesting blend of comics and stories, and they often tell a deep story.”
