British Science Week celebrations
Quizzes, trips, talks and experiments are helping to create a buzz around British Science Week at TCA this week.
Yesterday saw some large-scale experiments take place in Eden which captured students’ interest.
Students are also being challenged to complete science quizzes during tutor time, with prizes awarded to the best group.
Tomorrow there’s a science trip for a number of Year 7s who will be visiting the University of Cambridge’s Zoology Museum and Pembroke College.
On Monday, an astrophysicist will give a talk to students in years 9, 10 and 12. Joanna Piotrowska is a PhD candidate working in the Institute of Cosmology and the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge, researching galaxy evolution.
In addition, A level science students will take part in a ‘Spectroscopy in a Suitcase’ workshop next Wednesday.
There will be a range of specially themed books on display in the library.
