Maths success
Well done to the Year 7 and 8 students who recently took part in the first online Junior Mathematics Challenge.
The UKMT challenge, which TCA participates in every year, moved online this year so students could still take part.
A number of our students completed it from home and maths teacher Mrs Stevenson said that despite these challenging circumstances, they did TCA very proud.
The following students were awarded bronze or silver:
Year 7
Sam M (silver and best in school)
Lucy D (silver)
Kacper (bronze)
Year 8
Kacey S (bronze and best in year)
Older students have also taken advantage of the online resources available from the UKMT – this term the organisation offered higher ability students the opportunity to participate in online webinars on engaging topics in mathematics.
Places were allocated on a lottery principle and in June, TCA was offered some places on the webinar Graph Theory by Eszter Backhausz and a follow-up session.
