Staff success
Congratulations to two members of staff who have worked hard to gain extra qualifications this year.
Miss Sikora, our EAL (English as an Additional Language) and Accelerated Learning Group coordinator, has achieved her SENCO qualification after starting the course last September.
Principal Mr Scott highlighted the diligence and determination Miss Sikora has shown during a difficult year to achieve this qualification, which will enable her to offer further support to our students.
Another member of staff who is celebrating is Assistant Principal Mr Siracusano, who has gained a Masters degree in education (Educational Leadership and School Improvement) from the University of Cambridge.
Mr Siracusano embarked on his Masters two years ago, specialising in the sociology of education. He looked specifically at aspiration amongst teenage girls, an area he found to be underrepresented.
Alongside his science classes, Mr Siracusano has also been teaching A level sociology since September.
In the future, he would like to complete a Doctorate in Education at the University of Cambridge.
