Three Thomas Clarkson Academy students have been appointed as the school’s new IT technicians after successfully completing job applications and interviews.

Ryan Neale (Year 8), Daniel Sharman (Year 9) and Justinas Slicas (Year 8) will be helping the Academy’s IT apprentice Miss Amber Doyle with sound and lighting during assemblies, parents’ evenings and school productions.

Miss Doyle said: “They had to apply saying why they would like to do it and what their strengths were. Their applications were very good and they are just the kind of people we need to help us.

“They will be learning how to use the lighting desk and the sound desk and they will learn to work under pressure.”

Justinas said: “I like computers and I would like to use my skills to be an IT technician.”

Daniel helped during the school’s Christmas productions and said he wanted to continue to use the skills he had learnt then.

For Ryan, being an IT technician is something he has wanted to do for a long time and he is looking forward to getting stuck in to all aspects of the job.
