Students from Thomas Clarkson Academy gathered together for a day long fundraiser to help a local man who recently lost his leg.
The Bounce 4 Billy event was the idea of the Academy’s after school group called #bethechange, whose aim to make a positive contribution to society.
From 8.30am to 3pm, 45 students bounced on trampolines to gather donations for Billy Lee, who needs a prosthetic leg.
Teacher Kaila Parker said: “After attending the WE conference in London last month, in which they heard from guest speakers including Richard Branson and Martin Sheen, the students decided they wanted to do something to help Mr Lee.
“The idea of bouncing was entirely theirs and was something that was really supported by the whole academy.”
Mr Lee’s mother and grandmother attended the event and facetimed Mr Lee so he could watch the event for himself.
Monies are still being collected but it is thought the fundraiser total will get into the many hundreds.
