A big leap for maths students
A maths student at our academy has been recognised as being in the top 25 per cent nationally who were awarded a Merit in a prestigious competition.
Four of our mathematicians took part in the Junior Kangaroo contest, and they were able to take part thanks to their success in the Junior Maths Challenge they had already completed.
Michael K was awarded a merit, David L a certificate of qualification with Hugas B and Wiktoria R also taking part in the challenge.
“The effort and dedication shown by all students was remarkable, and we are looking forward to their future achievements,” said Mrs Stevenson, maths teacher and numeracy co-ordinator.
The contest is organised via the UK charity Mathematics Trust which world to advance maths education for young people around the country.
