Music Marathon begins

24 hours of music has started as the first ever TCA Music Marathon has struck its starting note.

The academy will be filled with the sound of music from around the world as lessons, workshops and concerts take place in an exciting musical experience.

40 students from years 7-13 are involved in the Music Marathon, which will also raise funds for charity My Friend Paul, which supports children in Kenya.

Music teacher Gayna O’Rourke said: “The idea was to help raise money for charity and engage the super students at TCA in an exciting musical experience.

There are workshops in Indian, Irish, Ukulele and African drumming sessions overnight as well as karaoke on the main stage and band practice and keyboard clubs in the classrooms. Students are also using practise rooms throughout the day to rehearse group performances.”

A concert is taking place in the theatre this evening from 7pm. All are welcome to attend and the ticket price is just £1.
