Winning words of library fans

We are celebrating success with three students who have won a prize draw in our library.

Sustainability and climate change was the focus of Green Libraries Week - the annual showcase and celebration of our libraries.

Our academy librarian, Miss Robinson, invited students to add to the display created specially for the event, and three lucky winners have been chosen.

“I love my library because it’s a safe place I can relax and read a book,” said Tony in Year 9.

“It’s a calming place to study, talk or read, where you can find cool new books on your own, or ask for great recommendations,” said Year 11 student Liliana.

And the Year 7 winner, Fifi, said: “I like the library because it’s quieter and somewhere to do work when you don’t have the time at home, and you can read and I hang out with friends.”

The three winners were chosen with the help of Mrs Howes, Miss Burt and Mr Scott, and they each received a £10 Amazon voucher and a book of their choice.

It’s also an opportunity to remind everyone about the services available from Cambridgeshire libraries and members can access eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics, eMagazines and eNewspapers. In-person loans can also be arranged from any library in the county, including Wisbech.

Our academy library is open to sixth form students during any periods with no timetabled subject lessons. Any student can come in during break and lunchtime to read, borrow, return or renew books.
