A buzzing holiday read

Students from two year groups at our academy had no reason to get bored over the Christmas holiday as they were all gifted a book.

The Bookbuzz project sees pupils in Years 7 and 8 choose from a selection of titles and they receive the book, along with a bookmark, from our librarian Miss Robinson.

The Book Trust runs a reading programme to help schools inspire a love of reading from 11 to 13-year-olds and offers a free book to encourage them.

Titles this year included thriller Dread Wood, by Jenifer Killick; Loki:A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good,  by Louise Stowel; and Our Sister Again, by Sophie Cameron. All the 16 titles included in the buzz have been chosen by a panel of experts..

Every school taking part in the buzz receives two copies of all 16 shortlisted titles for the library.
