The deadline for entries for a school writing competition has been extended to Monday, November 5, the first day back after the Half Term break.

Students can enter their own piece of poetry or a short story (maximum 2,000 words) into the competition.

All entries must be typed, attached to a filled-out copy of the form below and returned to Miss Elizabeth Doneathy in M003.

The competition is being sponsored by Wisbech Rotary Club and one of the Rotarians will be a judge.

After the deadline has passed, the judges will read students’ work and will choose a winner and runner-up in three age categories – ages 11 to 13, 14 to 16 and Sixth Form students.

The three winners and three runners-up will be announced and presented with prizes before Christmas.

Miss Doneathy said: “I’ve received many applications so far and some of them have been fantastic. I’m looking forward to seeing who will be crowned the winners.”
