The new Junior Leadership Team (JLT) has been elected following our first ever online vote.
Another first for this year is that we have expanded the JLT to represent the various groups that exist within the academy. So alongside the Head boy and girl, their deputies and the Year group representatives, we now have students who have been elected to represent the views of groups such as Young Interpreters, Sports and the Combined Cadet Force.
Students elected to the JLT were: Year 7- Oliver Yorke; Year 8 - Megan Woods; Year 9 - Jade Lartillier; Year 10 - David Betts; Performing Arts - Lizzie-ann Bryant; Combined Cadet Force - Chloe Cunningham; Young Interpreters - Alicia Baghdouyan; Sports - Charlotte Cameron; #Bethechange (charity Fundraising) - Cailyn Bendall; Anti-Bullying Ambassador - Courtney Beckett.
Head girl Beth Keeley and Head Boy Matt Bartram were selected at the start of the academic year in July. Their deputies are Ellie-May Cullen and Ewan McConnachie
Header of student voice Assistant Principal Sally Wilcher said: “This year we have opened the JLT to not just representatives from each year group, but across the wider academy. We asked students to put themselves forward if there was a group that they thought they would like to represent. We are a multicultural and diverse community at TCA and all students should have their voice represented. They students took the elections very seriously and jumped at the chance to represent their peers in a slightly different capacity, other than just their year groups.”
