Books and cinema tickets are up for grabs in a literature quiz as part of Wisbech Reads.

TCA librarian Debbie Trafford has organised the competition and has teamed up with Wisbech schools and local paper the Fenland Citizen to promote the family quiz.

Entrants have to answer ten book based questions and hand in their form to one of the collection drop of points by Friday, March 11th.

Wisbech Reads is a consortium of school, businesses and councils and aims to increase reading levels of Wisbech pupils, which are currently below the national average.

Mrs Trafford said: “The family quiz is a great way to get families together, talking about books. Local groups and businesses have been very generous with offering prizes, so the lucky winners can enjoy the prizes as a group. I hope everyone will have a go – it is an easy quiz!”

Prizes include a family pass to the Light Cinema, Asda vouchers, meal prizes for Frankie and Benny’s and books.

Collection points for completed entries are: Thomas Clarkson Academy (Corporation Road); Orchards Primary School (Cherry Road), Peckover Primary School (Leverington Road), Elm Road Primary School (Elm Road), Clarkson Infant School (Trafford Road), Kinderley Primary School (Church Lane), Nene Infants School (Norwich Road).

It can also be handed into one of the town’s three children centres.

The winning entries will be announced on March 31st.
