Our This Girl Can team are climbing the height of the Shard to raise funds for charity.
The Session 6 group, which is led by sports teacher Amy Anderson, will be climbing all 310m on our in school climbing wall tomorrow ( Friday, March 4th ) from 3pm.
They will need to scale the 10m high wall 31 times to reach the height of the iconic London building and complete the sponsored challenge.
The proceeds will go towards Barts Charity and also provide This Girl Can T-shirts for the team.
Miss Anderson said: “We wanted to set ourselves a challenge and as we have the county’s largest climbing wall here in school we thought it would be great to make use of it.”
This Girl Can is a Sport England initiative which has aims to increase female participation in sport.
The Session 6 after school club has been going since September and has involved female students trying out a number of sports. Each team member has a sponsorship form and there will also be collection buckets on the day.
