Our orchestra members are tuning up their instruments in preparation for opening for the RAF Swing Band this Saturday.

25 students from Years 7 to 13 will be performing in our Act Theatre on March 12th. They will be the warm up for the fabulous RAF Swing Band, which returns to the theatre following last year’s brilliant performance.

TCA Head of Music Gayna O’Rourke said: “It is a huge honour to perform with such an inspiring group of musicians as the RAF Swing Band. It is a real sense of occasion for the students and we are very proud of our children who are representing their school at such a fantastic concert

The orchestra will be performing two pieces ( a waltz and a Jewish folk tune) plus there will be singers performing, accompanied by guitar and box drum and two Year 7 pianists  will also be playing to the audience.

This year the Swing Band band will be basing their concert on the music of Count Basie, an American jazz pianist, organiser, bandleader and composer.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Air Force charities.

Tickets can be bought from The Cats Pyjamas, Union Street, Wisbech or by calling TCA governor Jan Hutchinson on 01945 584595.
