Students and staff raise hundreds in festive appeal

Generous TCA students and staff celebrated raising around £600 for the Salvation Army on the last day of term before Christmas.

Generous TCA students and staff celebrated raising around £600 for the Salvation Army on the last day of term before Christmas.

During the final week of term students donated food and toys as part of a festive Families In Need appeal. The donations were passed to the Salvation Army, who passed them on to local families in need.

The cash was raised through events including a raffle and shoe shining.

On the last day of term students and staff were invited to wear festive hats and ties to get into the Christmas spirit.

Three tutor groups - K22, P11 and M23 – finished the day with a chocolate feast after winning the TCA attendance competition.

TCA students also helped to spread the festive spirit in the community in the run-up to Christmas by performing at a local carol concert.

Jone Lipnickaite and Emily Lyall sang at The Ferry Project’s Christmas concert on December 14.
