Safeguarding News:

  • In September, staff and parents received some special safeguarding training from the charitable group, Enough Abuse.
  • CEO Marilyn Hawes, who is a lead lecturer in safeguarding, reiterated the steps that can be taken to protect children.
  • Afterwards, Ms Hawes delivered a parent/student workshop to raise awareness of the dangers of the internet and mobile devices, alongside the need to be aware of your surroundings and know how to keep yourself safe.

Health Uncovered Podcasts

A new series of podcasts created by school nurses and hosted by BBC Radio One presenter and actor Cel Spellman have been launched.

Young people across the country have been helping the team behind the podcasts to explore the issues that they’re facing today.  The podcasts have been produced in partnership with the NHS and other healthcare organisations. They are free and you can listen via mobile devices.  Just search ‘Health Uncovered’ in your favourite podcast app, like iTunes, or click below:
