Student Progression

TCA will guide students through the crucial decisions and options they face throughout their Sixth Form education. We will work to ensure students have developed all the necessary skills, achieved the required grades and developed the knowledge to excel on their chosen path. All students have access to a specialist careers adviser for support with making post-18/19 decisions. The CEIAG team will work closely with the Sixth Form staff to assist students through applications, personal statements and the UCAS process. With frequent off-site visits to career fairs, university campuses, skills shows as well as regular guest speakers from a number of organisations, we provide students with a range of experiences to inform their decisions

Last year (2017), 19% of our Year 13 leavers went on to study at Russell Group universities, while across the year group, all students who applied for university secured a place.

Below are details of some of next steps taken by last year’s students:

Joseph Moore is studying for a four- year chemical engineering Masters degree at the University of Leeds after gaining A grades in maths, further maths and chemistry and a B in physics.

Rosa Djalo is studying languages and finance at the University of Manchester. Rosa achieved an A in Portuguese and B grades in Spanish and French.
