Work experience
When: One full week in June/July
This is an exciting opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the workplace, explore career options, and develop essential skills for life after school.
Why Work Experience Matters
Work experience helps students:
- Understand the world of work
- Build confidence and independence
- Develop transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Strengthen future applications for university, apprenticeships, or employment
Students are encouraged to take an active role in arranging their work experience:
-
Independent Placements
Students will receive a Student Placement Form to approach employers and secure a placement that matches their interests or career aspirations. -
Pre-arranged Options
A limited list of employers who have previously offered placements will be available for students to choose from.
Work placements are a valuable experience, and regular attendance is expected.
If a student is absent (e.g., due to illness):
- Students must inform both their employer and TCA.
- Employers must notify TCA if a student does not attend.
