Thomas Clarkson is a successful, vibrant, warm and welcoming Academy that proudly supports our local community. Our motto of ‘Transform, Challenge, Aspire’ frames our approach to education.

We endeavour to ‘Transform’ the lives of all our students by ensuring they get the supportive ‘challenge’ they need to meet the dreams to which they ‘Aspire’.

Over 1300 students attend the Academy from ages 11 to 18 exploring and experiencing a rich curriculum that supports student development both academically and pastorally. Our inclusive approach underpins the Brooke Weston Trust vision of ‘tickets for life’. We aim to provide our students with the best opportunities to achieve the academic qualifications and skills to progress to university or the career of their choice.

The Academy was recognised as a ‘Good’ school in 2020 and this was maintained in 2025. OFSTED recognising that:

We have increasingly seen our students go on apprenticeships, employment or university. With students achieving places at Oxbridge and universities from Norwich to New York.

Our students wear their academy uniform with pride and are ambassadors for the academy. Whilst at the academy students develop the important skills of leadership, teamwork and co-operation through participation in a broad range of opportunities beyond the classroom such as sport, art, drama and community projects.
